Personalmente, no me gusta la idea del turismo como «desarrollo» para Barahona.El anuncio del desarrollo turístico para la provincia de Pedernales, hecho por el Presidente de la República el pasado fin de semana, ha despertado las apetencias, deseos e ilusiones de los barahoneros. Y mucho se habla de la inclusión de Barahona en ese plan.Como barahoneros podemos entender perfectamente esa postura, pero ¡NO OLVIDEMOS que se habla del desarrollo de la provincia de Pedernales!, no de Barahona.Personalmente, no me gusta la idea del turismo como «desarrollo» para Barahona.Porque el turismo empobrece y pervierte. Esa es la verdad que no nos dicen los vendedores de sueños. El turismo encarece absolutamente todo.Del turismo viven «tres gatos», pero todos tenemos que pagar el precio de «ciudad turistica».Ejemplos:— Si hoy el precio de un aguacate es de unos 25 pesos; cuando llegue el turismo, ese mismo aguacate subirá su precio a 100 pesos. Sólo los «tres gatos» tendrán la capacidad de pagar sin problemas, pero el grueso de la población que no vive del turismo, tendrá que sacrificarse y pagar los 100 pesos o renunciar a comer aguacate.— Si hoy el alquiler de una casa en Barahona es de unos 5,000 pesos; cuando llegue el turismo, esa misma vivienda subirá su precio a 15,000 pesos. Sólo los «tres gatos» tendrán la capacidad de pagar sin problemas, pero el grueso de la población que no vive del turismo, tendrá que sacrificarse y pagar los 15,000 pesos o renunciar a vivir decentemente.Esos son ejemplos del impacto económicamente negativo.¿Y QUÉ CON EL IMPACTO MORAL?— Aumento desmedido del flujo de drogas narcóticas y del consecuente aumento del consumo de dichas drogas con su consecuente efecto en la población más vulnerable y aumento de la delincuencia.— Aumento desmedido de la prostitución. — Aumento de enfermedades de transmisión sexual (VIH, VPH, gonorrea, sífilis, etc.)— Aumento del turismo pedófilo, actualmente en auge, aunque negado por todos.— Los casinos de los hoteles ordeñarán mucho más la exigua economía de los barahoneros.La propia naturaleza nos eliminó como destino turístico: ¡BARAHONA NO TIENE PLAYAS CON VOCACIÓN TURÍSTICA!Muchos me ladrarán, otros me tirarán a la yugular, otros me denigran de diversas maneras. Todos lo harán obnubilados por diversos intereses, no todos altruistas.Quizás sea mucho pedir, pero bueno será que antes de vomitar odios, rabias, resentimientos, mediten bien sobre lo aquí expresado responsablemente por mí.
