Santo Domingo. La Unión Nacional de Bartenders (UNABAR) organizó la tercera versión de la competencia “Bartender Challenge” resultando ganador el joven Henry Elian Eneria, del Hotel Secrets Cap Cana.
En la actividad participaron más de treinta bartenders de diferentes localidades del país, poniendo a prueba sus habilidades, destrezas y conocimientos, en la ejecución de la preparación de cócteles.
El presidente de UNABAR, Juan Febles, relató que tras varios meses de retos, entrenamientos y eliminatorias, se desarrolló la gran final con doce concursantes que se disputaron el primer lugar del evento que se llevó a cabo en el Hotel Catatonia Santo Domingo el pasado martes 28 de junio en el marco de ExpoGastronómica 2022.
Febles explicó que el “Bartender Challenge” es una competencia que busca elevar el profesionalismo de los bartender residentes en República Dominicana, desafiándolos a prepararse de forma integral para los diferentes retos que le van otorgando puntos.
El objetivo de la competencia esel competidor pueda entender la necesidad de ejecutar los cócteles con rapidez y eficiencia sin perder el sentido de calidad y procedimientos de un cóctel, mejorar las destrezas en uso de los utensilios con ambas manos evitando los derrames y que los competidores utilicen el sentido común, la organización y limpieza al preparar las bebidas.
“Esta competencia es una de las más exigentes de las que se organiza en el Caribe, ya que los bartenders deben demostrar su inteligencia, memorización de recetas, conocimiento de productos, eficiencia en la preparación de recetas que han trascendido en la coctelería mundial”, indicó el señor Juan Febles presidente de UNABAR.
Representará a la RD en el Panamericano de Bartender en Venezuela
El joven Eneria, representará al país en el Panamericano de Bartenders de la International Bartender Association (IBA) que se realizará en octubre, en la ciudad de Valencia, estado de Carabobo, Venezuela.
En este evento, también competirán Antonio Peralta y Yordyn Villalona ganadores del segundo y tercer lugar, respectivamente, del “Bartender Challenge”.
“Estoy muy contento de poder representar a mi país en tan importante evento y demostrar que la República Dominicana es una potencia turística no solo por el Sol y la Playa, también por la calidad y calidez de los recursos humanos que atendemos día a día a nuestros turistas”, comentó Eneria.
Acerca de UNABAR
La Unión de Bartenders de la República Dominicana (UNABAR) fue fundada en el 2011 bajo la sombrilla de la International Bartender Association (IBA). Desde su fundación ha desarrollado un plan estratégico que contiene un conjunto de actividades con el objetivo de fortalecer la carrera de bartender. A la fecha, tiene más de 700 miembros a nivel nacional con directivas regionales que se encargan de difundir conocimientos a través de talleres, charlas, cursos y visitas a casas licoreras. Cada año debe enviar a bartenders miembros a representar el país en el Panamericano de Coctelería y al Congreso Mundial de la IBA.
Esta entidad tiene como objetivo nuclear a todos los bartenders profesionales, dominicanos y extranjeros que trabajan dentro de la República Dominicana, a los fines de organizarlos y unirlos, estimulando un espíritu de solidaridad entre sus miembros; impulsar su capacitación y su relación con otras entidades de orden profesional del país, y con las similares del extranjero, persiguiendo una amplia y eficaz colaboración con las mismas; así como establecer cánones de conducta y eficiencia que le permitan a la sociedad dominicana esperar de ellos, el ejercicio profesional idóneo.
