Barahona.- De manera más directa y a través de su nueva sede, COOPMEDICA empieza a brindar sus servicios financieros en la región Sur. La Cooperativa Médica de Santiago, con 58 años de antigüedad, inicia sus operaciones en la provincia de Barahona con el objetivo de continuar garantizando a los socios el rápido acceso a las facilidades de la institución. Está ubicada en Zull Plaza.

La actividad inaugural contó con la presencia de Monseñor Andrés Napoleón Romero Cárdenas, obispo de la Diócesis de Barahona; así como autoridades de la provincia de Barahona.

 “En el transcurso de la pandemia visitamos el Hospital Regional Dr. Jaime Mota y establecimos relaciones con nuevos socios. Luego de un tiempo observamos que algunas enfermeras habían construido sus casas y emprendido diversos negocios; algunos médicos adquirieron consultorios y comprado equipos, y clínicas habían hecho reparaciones y expansiones gracias a las facilidades financieras de la institución”, contó con agrado Francisco Enrique Estepan Herrera, presidente del consejo de administración de COOPMEDICA.

Con el tiempo, la cooperativa que cuenta con más de 55 mil socios, echó raíces más hondas en la región Sur, al establecer oficina en la histórica, hidalga y de exóticos paisajes, ciudad de Barahona.

¨Hoy somos una robusta cooperativa de intermediación financiera que cuenta con un volumen de activos ascendente a RD$10,657 millones, con una cartera de crédito dirigida a sus socios de RD$7,584 millones. ¨, informó en la ceremonia Bienvenido Soto, gerente general de COOPMEDICA.

Los servicios financieros de COOPMEDICA están dirigidos al personal médico, de enfermería, trabajadores de la salud y la población en general. En la actualidad cuenta con 17 sucursales, 11 en el Cibao, 3 en la región Este; y su nueva sucursal en el Sur.

“Estamos entregando unos los instrumentos más preciosos para eliminar la pobreza del entorno y de nuestro país. Cuando pensemos en el cooperativismo tendremos un mejor horizonte y futuro mejor para todos. Donde nos encontremos debemos siempre pensar en el bienestar común así estaremos protegiendo el futuro de nuestros socios y de toda la sociedad”, afirmó Francisco Enrique Estepan Herrera, presidente del consejo de administración de la entidad financiera. En el acto intervino la gerente de negocios, Miguelina Martínez y el gerente de oficina en Barahona Carlos Moreta.

Al finalizar el acto protocolar, el público fue invitado a disfrutar de un cóctel.
