Indotel y OPRET abren exposición de “ilustraciones didácticas” sobre los 14 derechos de usuarios de las telecomunicaciones

SANTO DOMINGO.-Una novedosa exposición de “ilustraciones didácticas” que enseñan a los usuarios sobre cómo deben reclamar sus derechos y asumir sus deberes en los servicios de las telecomunicaciones, fue abierta hoy al público en la estación del Metro María Montez del Kilómetro 9 de la autopista Duarte.
La exposición forma parte de la campaña “Tú cuentas” que realiza el Instituto Dominicano de las Telecomunicaciones (Indotel) en todo el país.
La muestra, que se realiza en coordinación con la Oficina para el Reordenamiento del Transporte Terrestre (OPRET) recoge en formato de caricaturas, los 14 derechos de los usuarios tanto de telefonía, internet y televisión por suscripción.
La apertura de la exposición fue presidida por el consejero Nelson José Guillén Bello, el director ejecutivo en funciones del Indotel, César García Lucas y autoridades de la OPRET, durante un acto celebrado este jueves 21 de marzo en la referida estación de la segunda línea del Metro, en la autopista Duarte.
Las obras fueron realizadas por el destacado creativo, dibujante y artista gráfico Rafael José De los Santos Colón (Poteleche).
Las ilustraciones resaltan de manera sencilla y divertida los aspectos que favorecen a los consumidores, contenidos en la Carta de Derechos y Deberes de los Usuarios de las Telecomunicaciones, lanzada en noviembre del pasado año 2018, con la finalidad de que estos conozcan los derechos que les asisten cuando adquieren un servicio.
Con las exhibiciones itinerantes, el Indotel continúa sus empeños dirigidos a dar a conocer de manera masiva a los usuarios, que no están solos, que cuentan con una institución cercana para mantenerlos informados para que puedan sobre la base de sus conocimientos, hacer valer sus derechos.
El Indotel señaló que las ilustraciones del artista destacan específicamente, el derecho que tiene el usuario de las telecomunicaciones a libertad de elección, a la portabilidad numérica, a tener un contrato, a la información, a la facturación, continuidad y calidad del servicio contratado, y a la suspensión y cancelación temporal del servicio.
Igualmente, las creaciones de Poteleche ilustran de manera clara y concisa el derecho que asiste al usuario a la transferencia de saldos no consumidos, a la privacidad y protección de sus datos y a la no discriminación.
Muestran que compete al consumidor también el derecho a presentar quejas y reclamaciones, a establecer límite de crédito, al uso del servicio de emergencia 911 gratis y responsable, donde esté disponible, y a que se respeten los topes en horario y número de llamadas con fines de cobro de deudas.
La muestra es parte de los esfuerzos del Indotel de educar a los usuarios de los servicios de telecomunicaciones en materia de derechos, ya que según afirma: «Quien no conoce sus derechos, no puede hacer uso de ellos”, destaca la nota.
