Productores de cerdo, leche y azúcar presentan propuestas al Gobierno por impacto DR-CAFTA.

Los productores de cerdo, leche y azúcar expusieron al Gobierno sus propuestas. Estas sobre el posible impacto socioeconómico de una desgravación arancelaria en el marco del DR-CAFTA.

Impacto en empleos, producción, exportaciones y seguridad alimentaria
Sobre todo el impacto que tendría en términos de empleos, producción, y exportaciones. Asimismo, en seguridad alimentaria en nuestro país.

Esta fue la segunda reunión de consulta y tuvo lugar en el salón Hermanas Mirabal, del Palacio Nacional.

Allí se reunió la Comisión para Evaluar el Impacto del Proceso de Desgravación Arancelaria y de Apertura Comercial que Implica el DR CAFTA.

Compromiso del Gobierno: apoyar a los productores agropecuarios
El ministro de Agricultura, Ángel Estévez, presidió la reunión. Declaró que es un compromiso del Gobierno apoyar y acompañar a los productores agropecuarios.

Esto para ayudarlos a enfrentar los retos con éxito y ser competitivos. De esta manera, asegurar los empleos a la economía dominicana.

Gobierno escucha inquietudes
“Sostuvimos un encuentro muy provechoso porque hemos escuchado las inquietudes”, dijo Estévez.

También “las posibles soluciones en términos de políticas agropecuaria y comercial, propuestas por los productores”.

Prioridad es evaluar correctamente efectos de la desgravación
Expresó que las propuestas serán evaluadas detenidamente por esta Comisión.

Dijo que para los productores y el Gobierno es prioridad evaluar correctamente los posibles efectos de la desgravación. En particular, en términos de empleos, producción, exportaciones y seguridad alimentaria en nuestro país.

Consultas bilaterales con países firmantes del DR-CAFTA
Una vez Danilo Medina haya estudiado los informes de esta comisión, realizará procesos de consulta bilateral. Lo hará con el gobierno norteamericano y con los demás países firmantes del referido tratado.

El próximo encuentro será con las asociaciones que agrupan a los productores de habichuelas, ajo y cebolla. Este será realizado el próximo jueves 20.

En la reunión estuvo el director ejecutivo del CEI-RD, Luis Henry Molina. Igualmente los viceministros de la Presidencia, Juan Ariel Jiménez; y de Relaciones Exteriores,  Hugo Rivera.

Asimismo, los viceministros de Agricultura, Winston Marte; y de Industria y Comercio, Yajaira Sosa Machado.

El viceministro de Industria y Comercio, César Dargám, también participó.
Del Consejo Nacional de Reglamentación y Fomento de la Industria Lechera, Arnaldo Gómez.

Además, el vicepresidente de la JAD, Osmar Benítez, y de la Comisión de Defensa Comercial, Fantino Polanco.

Del mismo modo, el asesor en exportación del CEI-RD, Horacio Álvarez; y el técnico de Agricultura, Gregory Marte.

El asesor de Industria y Comercio, Gregorio Lora; y la directora ejecutiva del INDOTEL, Katrina Naut.

Por los sectores productivos participaron los presidentes de FEDEGARE, Ulises de Beras; y de APROLECHE, Eric Rivero.

También los presidentes del Patronato Nacional de Ganaderos, Alexis  Alonso; y de FEDOPORC, Israel Brito.

En ese sentido, los presidentes de ADOGRANJAS, Wilfredo Bautista ; y de APORCI, Carlos Liz.

Por los ganaderos estuvieron los presidentes de FEGACIBAO, Rubén Hernández; y FEDEGANO, Rolando de Jesús Peralta.

De igual manera, los presidentes de FEGASUR, Víctor Matos; y de FEDEGANORTE, Guaríonex Gell.

En representación de los productores de azúcar, el presidente de FEDOCA, Julián Peralta.

Asimismo, el presidente del Central Romana, Ramón Meléndez; y el vicepresidente de INICIA, Campos de Moya. También el presidente del Consorcio Azucarero Central, Virgilio Pérez Bernal.
