Santo Domingo. – El titular del Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS), encabezó este miércoles un encuentro con directores de los Servicios Regionales (SRS) para establecer los planes y lineamientos que serán ejecutados durante el 2021 con miras a reducir la mortalidad materna y neonatal.
En la actividad organizada por la Dirección Materno Infantil y Adolescentes y en la que también participaron encargados de Obstetricia de diferentes maternidades a nivel nacional, se definieron acciones conjuntas para fortalecer las atenciones prenatales y disminuir los factores de riesgo de mortalidad.
Al señalar que el 80 por ciento de las muertes maternas son evitables, el doctor Mario Lama instó a los directores regionales y de hospitales “empoderarse de sus funciones y gestionar los recursos e insumos que se necesiten para lograr fortalecer los servicios maternos y neonatales en toda La Red Pública”.
En ese orden, el doctor Martín Ortiz, director de Materno Infantil y Adolescentes del SNS, reiteró el compromiso de la actual gestión en trabajar arduamente para lograr disminuir los indicadores de mortalidad materna y neonatal que actualmente refleja el país.
“Hemos puesto en marcha el Plan de Integración Regional y a través de la recién creada Comisión de Vigilancia, vamos a desarrollar estrategias de contingencia que, si nos comprometemos todos, lograremos impactar las actuales estadísticas de ese indicador”, añadió.
Acordaron reunirse la segunda semana de cada mes en las instalaciones del Servicio Regional Metropolitano (SRSM), para pasar balance a las medidas adoptadas y presentar un informe sobre los casos acontecimientos de sus respectivas regiones.
