Santo Domingo, R.D.- El Programa de Medicamentos Esenciales y Central de Apoyo Logístico (PROMESE/CAL), puso en funcionamiento una Farmacia del Pueblo en el sector de Guachupita, instalada en el Centro de Primer Nivel de Atención del referido sector.

En un breve acto que contó con la participación de la alcaldesa del Distrito Nacional, Carolina Mejía, el director general de PROMESE/CAL, Adolfo Pérez, citó el impacto positivo que tendrá la instalación para los habitantes del populoso sector impactando a poco más de mil familias y casi cinco mil habitantes.

“Esta Farmacia también beneficiará los sectores Maria Auxiliadora y La Ciénaga. Desde que asumimos la dirección de PROMESE/CAL, hemos desarrollado una agenda de expansión de las Farmacias del Pueblo porque tenemos como misión poder darle a todas las familias dominicanas la oportunidad de tener acceso a los medicamentos del Cuadro Básico de Medicamentos Esenciales (CBMS)  a bajo costo y con calidad”, dijo Pérez.

Agregó que “estos trabajos se corresponden con la visión de nuestro señor presidente de La República, Luis Abinader, quien ha priorizado la salud declarándola como lo más importante”.

A su vez, Mejía agradeció la obra y dijo que con la misma se pone de manifiesto el compromiso que tienen las actuales autoridades con la gente «y nada más que con la gente».

Residentes de la comunidad consultados se mostraron complacidos con la iniciativa, afirmando que ahora no tendrán la necesidad de trasladarse a otras locaciones para adquirir los medicamentos que necesitan para patologías comunes como son la diabetes e hipertensión arterial.

A la actividad asistió el subdirector de PROMESE/CAL, Carlos Padilla,  el director de Farmacias del Pueblo Luis Gamborena; la directora de Desarrollo Comunitario del Ayuntamiento del Distrito Nacional, Claudia Sarante y Jesús D’Alesandro, secretario técnico municipal así como líderes comunitarios.
