El INFOTEP y el IDDI ponen en marcha programa de capacitación para el manejo integral de residuos

Santo Domingo.- El Instituto Nacional de Formación Técnica Profesional (INFOTEP) y el Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral (IDDI) pondrán en ejecución un plan para capacitar en el manejo y gestión integral de residuos, con el objetivo de impactar las comunidades aledañas a los ríos Ozama e Isabela.

El director general del INFOTEP, Rafael Santos Badía, y el director ejecutivo del IDDI, David Luther, firmaron el acuerdo mediante el cual ambas entidades se comprometen, a través de la formación, a propiciar una cultura de reciclaje y aprovechamiento de los residuos con enfoque de emprendimiento, a través de la economía circular.

“Con la firma de este acuerdo para formar técnicos gestionadores y recicladores de desechos sólidos, estamos reforzando y ayudando a dar cumplimiento al Protocolo de Kioto, de 1997, promovido por las Naciones Unidas, del cual somos signatarios; a la ley General de Gestión Integral y Coprocesamiento de Residuos Sólidos y a la Estrategia Nacional de Desarrollo, con claras metas ambientales para el 2030”, expresó Santos Badía.

Indicó además que como parte del acuerdo serán evaluados proyectos e iniciativas de apoyo a la Agricultura 4.0, con especial interés en la producción de cacao y el desarrollo turístico de la provincia Pedernales, entre otras iniciativas.

De su lado, el director del IDDI, David Luther, expresó que para la institución que representa, la firma de este acuerdo es una oportunidad de reafirmar el compromiso social que, como organización no gubernamental, tienen desde su fundación en 1984, en este caso, aportando al saneamiento de las cuencas de los ríos Ozama e Isabela, mediante acciones de apoyo a las comunidades que viven en sus orillas.

“Nos alegra emprender acciones enfocadas en la recolección, disposición y reciclaje de residuos sólidos, y en la limpieza de cañadas que inciden en los ríos, impactando positivamente en la salud, la habitabilidad de la gente en esas zonas y en las condiciones para un turismo sostenible, generando importantes recursos para las comunidades” expresó.

Este convenio, con una duración de dos años, prorrogable, también contempla la ejecución de acciones conjuntas de apoyo a los dominicanos en el exterior, e iniciativas con empresas que generen desechos sólidos.

Como parte de las acciones que se llevarán a cabo en el marco del convenio, se destaca el diseño y actualización de programas de formación técnico profesional, orientados a las áreas de: Manejo, Clasificación y Gestión de residuos sólidos, Gestión ambiental, Emprendedurismo, Administración, Gerencia y Contabilidad para Microempresas y Economía circular.

En adición a estos programas el INFOTEP facilitará los servicios de capacitación a los colaboradores del IDDI, con el propósito de fortalecer sus habilidades técnicas y gerenciales y la formación al personal docente y voluntario como Facilitador de la Formación Técnico Profesional.

El convenio contempla además la gestión de pasantías e inserción laboral para los participantes egresados de las acciones de formación impartidas por el INFOTEP, así como el intercambio de metodologías y buenas prácticas, estudios, encuestas y material del sector, a los fines de identificar posibles áreas de trabajo conjunto.

El INFOTEP, órgano rector de la formación técnico profesional, suma como aliado al IDDI, para continuar creando estrategias que conjuguen los intereses y la participación de todos los actores, tanto públicos como privados, en todas sus representaciones, promoviendo y apoyando iniciativas que contribuyan a la reducción, reutilización y reciclaje (3Rs) de los residuos sólidos en el país.
